About

A Santa Cruz Native, as a trial lawyer with over a decade of frontline experience, Zach Schwarzbach believes that everyone who comes under the scrutiny of the law deserves every available protection that the legal system provides them. In the thousands of hours he has spent in the courtrooms of Santa Cruz County, Zachariah has represented clients at over 50 jury trials, ranging from juvenile delinquency to misdemeanors and felonies.

Both inside and outside of the courtroom, Mr. Schwarzbach is committed to public service. With over 12 years as a public defender, prior to private practice, he has worked on a variety of felony offenses including homicide, robbery, arson, domestic violence, sex offenses, and kidnappings. When he is not in the courthouse, Zach has donated his time and energy to his community, working at the Criminal Record Clearance Clinic in the Watsonville Law Center. He has also coached participants in the Santa Cruz County Office of Education Teen Peer Court Program, and provided educational outreach on civil rights and liberties to High School Students students of Sequoia High School in Watsonville.
